It is a great car, but not the greatest on the planet. Many with the A8 are severely upset at issues they've had with it. As long as the thing holds together, I was actually pleasantly surprised with the stock performance. The 6th gen is definitely an upgrade from the 5th gen though, as it should be.
Agree..each model needs to be an upgrade. But its not very common for the new model to lose ground from the start. They better do alot better marketing on the 7th gen for sure.

If I could get a 1le in an auto I'd have one. The ten speed not the 8

My co worker with th17 black 1le loves the car. Its nice in black. But god damn its always dirty. I just found out he is going to Camaro fest . He is a road course guy. The 10 speed auto would be a good choice for the 7th gen 1le.

If I was a complete track rat that was out there competing every weekend, the 10 speed auto is lightning fast. Unfortunately, the 8-speed auto is a slush-box. It's had it's fair share of bugs and the shifts aren't all that fast. The Vette guys complain about it ad nauseam. As it is, I'm not a track rat. Sure, I'd love to try it a few times and the opportunity has presented itself this summer.

I love my manual. I enjoy rowing the gears and feeling the car. When you're nailing gears, you feel as if you are one with the car. Everybody has their own opinion. Mine is with the manual.

I do actually like the 6th gen, even the 19, just depends on the trim. With some wide tires and the new grill bar all in black I think it looks pretty sweet and continues to grow on me

I just don't think the mid-cycle update they did on the SS model is doing it any favors. If I was the designer on the refresh, I would have never went to such an extreme approach to the front end like that.

Then, they decide to black out the center bar and place the bowtie emblem on the bumper to make it look even worse. It's almost as if they were trying to make it look ugly on purpose or something.

That huge gaping maw ruins the whole front end of the car. Sure, the Camaro should be aggressive, especially the SS models, but they should also be sleek and well proportioned.

The front half of the original '16-'18 6th gen is not bad. However, when you get past the C-pillar and beyond is when things go wonky. I never really liked the shape of the rear quarter window. It doesn't look very Camaro like to me. It's looks more like what the Mustang would have.

In fact, it reminds me of the '71-'73 Mustang fastback models which had a very similar profile. On a new retro based fastback Mustang, it would look great. On the Camaro, it looks out of place.

Also, the cutout of the rear wheel openings on the body don't look right to me. It's like they are too low in comparision to the front wheel well openings. When people lower their 6th gens, this mismatch in height becomes even more apparent in side profile shots. I think this is where the import styling comments come from. Imports traditionally had the rear wheel well openings much lower than the front wheel well openings.

Sorry I was referring to others I've talked about cars friends coworkers family. A guy I work with said he didn't think the 16 was different enough to be a new generation and he's got a 15 ss.

I am not in the market for a 6th Gen Camaro, but here is my take on the appearance of the refresh: Yes, the large black grill-type bar with the bowtie placed above it (on the SS), is my main concern (as it seems to be for 90% of the others that aren't so keen on the car's looks). My other sore-spot is the bug-eyed taillights. I liked them the way they were, pre-refresh. I was at my dealer a few weekends ago and they had a '19 ZL1 in orange crush on the lot. It was very sharp, minus the taillights. IMHO, they just look goofy.

Again, appearance is subjective and you can't please everybody.

It may have some to do with marketing but I'm still convinced that it has to be price driven more than anything. The cars are more expensive than any of its competition and the jump from 5th gen to 6th gen was just too steep.

So that I can make my point, here's a year to year comparison of cost increases in coupe 1SS cars:
10-11: +$125
11-12: +$1,210
12-13: +$355
13-14: +$720
14-15: +$150
15-16: +$2,795

The real kicker was the 2SS trim and in particular the convertible model.
2SS coupe 15: $37,305
2SS coupe 16: $41,300 (+$3,995)
2SS convertible 15: $42,405
2SS convertible 16: $48,300 (+$5,895)

Interestingly enough I think GM wondered if they'd priced themselves too high as the next few years, especially 18-19 had minimal 1SS price increases. I wonder if they took the overwhelming mixed emotions of the refresh to the bank with a $0 price increase between 18-19.
16-17: +$605
17-18: +$95
18-19: +$0
They took the same approach with the 2SS in both coupe and convertible for 18-19 with a $0 price increase.

That is some serious reconnaissance work, pyroguy. Superb!

Where I am a 2016 2SS was low 60s new. The prices you posted are low ....I would pay those prices on a heart beat. My 2011 2SS auto optioned out at 50 k back then.

Has nothing to do with Visibility, the 6th Gen camaro is just Soft..it's a weak design that doesn't really inspire, and you're paying more for something that doesn't visually grab you.
