FYI - I just picked up my 2019 1500 4x4 High Country w/6.2 last Monday from Hendrick's Chevy in KC. They have a total of 25 in their inventory at all locations and on order. Of the 25, 15 are 6.2 equipped. Of the remaining vehicles, 2.7l - 6.3%, 4.3l - 16.9%, and 5.3l - 76.4%. Looks like 5.3s are still strong.

Your math doesn't make sense. There are 25 trucks total, 15 of which are 6.2's. That leaves 10 remaining. 6.3% of 10 trucks (for the 2.7L) is barely half a truck.

I should have clarified that better. The breakdown by engine type was for the "remaining" trucks which are all the non-High Country vehicles in stock and on order.

Wow, surprising in a year when they knew they'd have two new challengers in the segment. Glad I didn't wait and went ahead with the 2018.

I saw the same picture and also a video from the NY Auto Show of the High Country "Trail Boss". The truck in the video was no options any different than mine. It also had street tires. You can get an off-road pkg for the High Country that includes Z71 Off-Road suspension, Hill Descent Control. and Skid plates. The rest of the typical Z71 items are not included for the High Country and nowhere in the on-line order guide do they reference a High Country Trail Boss.

You can also get an LTZ with the 6.2L. When my Dad was trading in his '08 LTZ (5.3L) for a '14 LTZ, he wanted the 6.2L (High Country didn't exist yet). He had to search high and low for it. The 6.2L is night and day. All around performance, towing, etc.. Towing a 20' speedboat or enclosed (3 motorcycle) trailer across the mountains, is no problem. It never even downshifts.

He's now debating on a '19 or '20 High Country and a 6.2L is all he will buy. Amazing truck!

6.2L L87 V8 now available on Silverado Custom Trail Boss, RST, LT Trail Boss.

RST 6.2L model now best in class towing.
Got to love a good old fashioned pick up truck best in class war!

All the makes make a big deal about being class leading only to be one upped the next year or 2 years later lol

Not to mention you should probably be in an HD if you're towing that much.

THIS ^

If I was going to be towing anything even remotely close to that weight on more than one occasion I would be looking at a heavy duty.
