I would not hesitate to buy it again. I love to drive sticks and they sound great going through the gears. I don’t have too much of an issue with the bogging as I’m not much of a racer.

No regrets here. The only drawback from my perspective is that it is extremely difficult to drive slow. The change in exhaust tone through the RPM range make you want to hear it in every gear. I'm sure I would like the A10, but I love this car with the manual.

I wouldn't change a thing. I am one of those who believe that a real muscle car has three pedals. I also enjoy rowing through the gears. I would make the purchase again. The only thing that I might do differently would be purchasing a convertible.

Manual all the way

The manual was the only way to go for me. I realize the A10 is quicker and naturally easier to drive, but the manual is simply more fun. I didn't even think about it when I purchased, but the manual is somewhat of a theft deterrent; this is just my opinion, but I believe over 70% of drivers today cant drive a manual car.

Simply don't understand why C&D would use the ZL1 1LE in a quarter mile race. The A10 shifts faster and doesn't have the drag of the 1LE's canards or rear wing.

Guys....rowing gears in this car is the only way to fly!!

BUT....the OEM TB is a POS and needs to be replaced.....even you guys that dont think you have an issue I assure you that you still do. Replace it with one of my ported units and your biggest regret will be not have taken the time to swap it out sooner.

The difference in throttle response, tip in power, how linear the throttle now becomes is huge not to mention it's worth 12-15 RWHP and RWTQ with no other changes. It's the best low buck mod on the planet for this car and the main reason that's true is because you're replacing a sub par part that should have never got the nod on this car....this was the GM bean counters deciding a $50 truck TB (already on the shelf) was OK on your 650 HP sports car.

Whoever is reading this that doesnt have my TB I urge you to try it....if you don't feel it was worth every penny I will refund your money that's how confident I am in this product. Many of your comrades on this forum have tried it and love it.....to drive this car with a stock TB a day longer than you have to is just silly in my book.....it's a cheap upgrade that pays you back in spades for the duration you own this car

Here is a before and after dyno with no other changes besides my ported TB but the extra power is really the icing on the cake....the real reason to own this TB is getting rid of the lag/dead zone and the huge improvement in throttle response it offers.

Take the plunge guys.....you will thank me for the push! If you don't feel it was worth every cent you paid I will refund your money no questions asked.

Cheers,
Tony

I would do it again, manual all the way, love the connection you have with the car when driving, autos just don't do it for me. If you're going to drag race the A10 would be the transmission of choice. As far as the bogging issue, none existant for me. Love the car, prefer it over my C7, manual of course..

I only have had manuals for all of my sports car. To me M6 is the only thing to have. As for the bogging, I know what you are talking about. But that is just getting used to the car and knowing how much gas and when after you are letting off of the clutch. I have no problems at all unless I don't get it right which is almost never now. I am used to the car and it is amazing.

I totally think that MotorTrend got spanked by GM Corporate for their initial glowing review of the ZL1 which basically came across as "Why buy a Corvette?"

Everything since then has been more about keeping the cars in their "Place" or hierarchy if you will. When I saw they put in the ZL1 1LE manual as the quarter mile contender this idea was solidified. It's no secret that the ZL1 A10 is a better quarter mile car than any other variant and the 1LE has way more aero drag as it's not a 1/4 mile specific car.
