There is only one way to solve this, let's all get together and rent a trackday and winner takes everything.

Give me you ZLE for a few laps, and I might break a few PBs. Oh! And let's all drive a MANUAL, like real men. Anyone can pull a lever

And not to hamper anyone's spirits too much, but if you think the ZLE is KILLING it at the ring, here is a Viper lap that is 15s faster. Because perspective.

Part of the issue when comparing cars/laptimes is the driver's subjective experience being used as the main point of reference. While there is merit in that as far what you are feeling, how the car reacts, etc, I like to choose an objective point of reference for how I am doing - as far as how close to the sharp end of the spectrum for that type of car I'm at. I look at what the best are running in that same type of car.
Ex - at The Ridge my best lap time in my car without the chicane is a 1:44.9. The Trans Am West series pole time was a 1:40.01. So, that is basically 5 seconds of pole time of a TA car. At the Global Time attack that was just held, the street class winner was a 1:44.79. So, why does this matter? Because unless you are operating near the sharp end, a subjective opinion doesn't really matter, IMO. Ken

How comfortable you are trying to get that lap time plays a large roll. With the handful of ZLEs I have driven, they are a bit more edgy at the limit than my car. Think of it this way, IME, driving a stock ZLE to say 90% of capability is pretty easy and will net a very good lap time. Looking for that last 10% is another issue and it gets much harder to get that last drop in time. The SS at the last 10% is much much easier, again, IME. Ken
