I do think the lack of interior room is a problem for the 6th gen.
I agree with the interior room issues. Young families need to be able to take their kids to their activities with adequate room. Drivers seat all the way back, one kid in the front seat and another kid in the seat behind the passenger seat. If there is not enough room for that - forgetaboutit.
I think the Gen 5 hit the sweet spot for interior room, Trunk space is awesome, but, missed the mark a little on head room. A little more headroom and the Gen 5 interior would have been very close to the size of a '69 camaro interior -- which was used by young families back in the day.

The 6th gen is tight inside, but it will work for a family of 4 as long as no one is taller than about 5'9", like myself. Even leaving the seat set exactly the way I like it, I can still fit in the back seat behind it. It is tight and I have to put my feet in sideways and then twist them up under the seat, but if you work the puzzle right, even someone my size will fit behind the driver. So our 10 and 12 year olds fit just fine.

It would still be nice to have a bit more legroom and, most of all, headroom in the back. I'd give up a few inches of trunk length for more legroom without making the car any longer. Another thing I'd like to see fixed for a next gen car, is the trunk openings. Both the opening under the lid and behind the seat are too tight to get big items through. We need to be able to fit our drag packs in the trunk and through the hole with the rear seat down. The way it is, I can just barely wiggle one rear tire in through the trunk, then the other will have to go in through the front door to lay on the back seat. Not sure if I want to do that with a dirty tire or not. Maybe if I can find something I can wrap the tire in.

And give us room to clean the rear window please. I know that's a lot to ask, but......
