AND what else is genius, you've got two garage doors so you can wash her in the back garden without the neighbors talking about you :-) #foodforthought

I used to have the same garage issue with my Trans Am, had to leave the drivers window down to be able to squeeze out. And when I had a '77 Camaro I actually moved the garage door and frame to the edge of the garage brickwork to give just 1" spare on length fitting into garage. I'll measure my current garage, but think it's too small even if I went UK with folding mirrors

Can anyone confirm that 2012 models have reversing camera screen in the rear view mirror?

2013 is still looking favourite as it has the steering new wheel, Bigger Mylink screen and extra silver trim on the dash.

So, a 2013 SS with RS package Import is currently ahead as I need to have legal small number plates, and prefer the four rear lights with UK mods, with smaller mirrors.

That is until a red UK model comes up at a good price with low miles, then I might not be able to contain myself........

Here is the original thread for Dave's car:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=398993

He asked me a while back if I knew anyone who was looking to buy.
You could ask him if he's still interested in selling it still.

Cheers for the heads up, nice looking machine, but I see she's a stick?
I've been a slushbox guy for far too long to go back to a stick, and I'd probably need to deal with a trader as I'd need to PX my Caddy which would probably be hard to shift unless I gave it away to one of those rip off sites

Yes mine's an imported 2012 2SS Convertible, it's got a backup camera display in the rear view with active guide lines (sure I read somewhere the 2013 - 2014 guide lines are fixed)

I'm curious if there are any modifications that are required of a stock 2012 LS (US version). I've browsed through the posts, but am completely naive about UK road specifications. I'm looking to bring my Camaro with me when I move to Wales from Connecticut at the end of 2016 or early 2017 and would like some info about that. I figure here is as good of a place to start. Also, how much did it cost to import the car?

Yes there will be mods. If you don't have the HID lights that will make it somewhat easier. You'll need side repeaters (turn signals), and you'll need the rear turn signals changed from red to amber. There are some regs about not putting any additional electrical load onto the stock wiring so you'll need a tiny computer that does all the light mods, lots of companies that specialise in it over here. Other things... new rear fog light required with an illuminated dashboard switch. Other things to watch out for might be custom exhausts, wheels wider than the car and tinted windows.

Don't be put off, it'll be all worth it for the head-turning experience of driving on UK roads. :-)

Here's my light mods...

This depends... If you're moving your home to the UK, and you've lived in USA for at least 1 year, and owned the car for at least 6 months, you can bring it to the UK without paying the 20% VAT. You can't sell it for a set amount of time (2 years I think) and if you do you'll pay the VAT for the value at that time.

If you're in the USA for at least another year, you could spend $35k on a ZL1, own it for 6 months, bring it to the UK without paying tax, and then it would still be worth $35k (on the UK market) in two years time. LOL
