Lots of ignorance in their comments section regarding the danger of hydrogen. Its actually safer than gasoline or diesel in the event of a tank rupture (which itself is rarer because the tanks are incredibly strong to begin with). The thing with gasoline or diesel is that if the tank (or fuel line) ruptures, you'll get fuel pooling around the vehicle which soon results in a cloud of flammable vapour that sits at ground level. If that cloud comes in contact with an ignition source, you get a fire that envelops the whole vehicle in nearly an instant and can sustain itself for a very long time due to all the fuel on the ground.

With hydrogen? If the tank fails (which is a big 'if' to begin with), you get a jet of hydrogen gas. Since hydrogen is so much lighter than air, it floats away instead of surrounding the vehicle. And if the gas does ignite, instead of a huge fire you basically have a blowtorch at the source of the leak. Not great, but it presents a much smaller small risk to anyone inside or near the vehicle than a gasoline/diesel fire would.

Good point DG.

As a first responder that’s definitely a better scenario to deal with.

So no Flow-tie in the race car body, does that mean the SEMA "fix" is going to be officially introduced?

Maybe Cadillac has sourced the platform of the new Vette and is aiming for Tesla with an Electric flagship.

Hybrid for vette and electric for the caddy. Not a bad idea
