When you work from home, do you have to wear official clothes?

Hi there!

I've been in video meetings recently and seen lots of people in less than stylish clothing (old T-shirts, wrinkled dress shirts, tank tops, and in one case what clearly looked to be pajama tops). Our dress code is primarily business casual and on certain occasions a suit and tie for men.
Anyway, usually I wear some simple, pressed, clean T-shirt and jeans for online meetings. Luckily I can get them with considerable discounts at cools

I am working from home 2 days a week but I am not video conferencing. I call in during the day and my boss and I talk.

I certainly wouldn't do a video conference in my PJ's, but things have been a little more casual than usual.

My Zoom meetings don't require me to have my video or microphone on so they're lucky I'm wearing pants.

I used to work from home from time to time before the great 2020 lockdown. It is only occasionally with video, but I am wearing what I usually wear on any given day, including when I went to qwork.

I also found during this LONG stretch of working remote, I like to keep some kind of routine (helps with sanity). I don't just roll out of bed and turn on computer with my cup of coffee. I get up, shower, get dressed, grab coffee and get to work, everything like I did when I physically went to work.
If it's nice, may take a brief walk outside first, something to make it not just get up and sit at computer.

I see some like your talking about, looks like they just rolled out of bed, or may even still be IN the bed! Yikes! People, have some dignity!

I treat it like another day at the office, even if I never leave the house, so clothing and all.

Even on camera, it usually only the top half, so pants COULD be optional! LOL!!

I still at least have clothes on, but many days I'm in a t-shirt and gym shorts. Comfort is essential when stuck inside at a desk. However, days that I know I have video conferences I've been trying to put on at least a polo shirt as that's standard attire in my industry for professionals.

Well, that depends. But not sure that would help me a lot if my colleagues saw me in dirty t-shirt. So, usually, it's a shirt

We never do videoconferencing, but I still put some proper cloths on as if I was going out, just to be in the mood for something else than potato couch. I won't put on jeans per say but a nice pair of shorts. No worn clothes though.

No video conferencing for me, just phone conferencing. I'm usually in gym pants and a white t shirt. I think I have only put on a pair of jeans once since mid March and that was because I had to go in the office to download something.
