Forum availability

What happened to the forums last night? The site didn't load at all this morning or afternoon, and I've only just been able to check in. Was it regular maintenance or some unexpected incident perhaps?

I hope not , but there may be a day , we have to choose between internet or lites , cooking food , refrigerator, heat . I'll take lites, cooking food , refrigerator, heat. I'm sure there's still old server farms
and the cloud , being run or powered by fossil fuel to keep the data accessable. Disclaimer note : I am just being observent.

In looking at the certificate, it appears that it's being secured using the free LetsEncrypt certificate that has to be renewed every 90 days.

I remember all of the performance issues of this site not that long ago when the site would slow to a crawl during heavier usage times of day. Now, it goes completely offline for two days and there's no announcement from the admin about it. The other related sites were down, too, so there was a significant issue at play.

I was having issues loading the site since Friday. This site is hosted/ran by vBulletin I believe right? There were all kinds of sites down from what I was gathering.

Isn't this the forum availability thread? You know, the one where people who couldn't get on this website and couldn't see, or respond to anything voice their opinion about that topic?
Harassing the person doing all of us a favor could very well stop that person from doing you a favor.

Most online forums seem to use vBulletin software, but I don't know believe the software maker is involved in the hosting of the site. Camaro6 (Camaro5, Corvette7, etc.) seem to be hosted by IBM's SoftLayer.

Gotcha... ya it was just an educated guess when I was googling trying to find out if not getting to Camaro6 was just me or a bigger issue.

Definitely wasn't just you... And I did something a bit similar - there are some sites where you can find out if a site is actually down or if it's just a problem with your connection. I found that all of the related sites here were all "down for everyone" when I checked them.

I do know that there is some sort of vBulletin Hosting, but I don't -believe- that's how / where this site is being hosted (unless the vBulletin Hosting actually just uses shared space in SoftLayer - it isn't always easy to tell the difference sometimes.
