Bought the car from Chevy dealership and they were trying to sell it for $19,356. I got them to bring it down to $18,030...So if they say my car is only worth 6k that means my car has lost over 12k in value in under 2 years. I’m pretty sure a Nissan Versa is worth more than 6k...

you would do a lot better to sell it to the next owner directly, especially if you have all the service records.

Dealers can pay you whatever you want for your trade and make it up on what they sell you. You need to look at the whole deal, not just what they'll give you on trade. |

Either keep it or sell it yourself. Have it detailed nicely and ask $9k quick sale. With 100k + miles you're not gonna get much more.

Dealerships don't look at KBB or NADA they just run the numbers for profit. Half the time they just get sent to auction. Even nice cars they will send to auction depending what is on the lot.
Myself I negotiate price first without talking trade in. Then talk trade in and always low ball me. I sell it myself for easily 5 to 7k more. Not even worth getting mad about. I find it to be a funny game to not get mad. In your circumstances I would have said why the hell should I buy another Camaro from you if they hold value less then a Gremlin! |

You also could have been implying that when the car gets over 100k that I wouldn’t get much more.

Don't sell to a dealership or trade in. It's a little harder but selling privately you will get so much more. That dealer wants to buy it from you at $6K and put it on the lot for $12k within a couple days. They are there to make money and let you take the "Hit" or loss. I wouldn't buy from a dealer either, but that is just me.

You weren't just low balled... you were on the Bend Over Rover Train. I just did a quick search on Carvana. com and found that a 2014 LS with no added option on the site with 65k miles is worth $11,334 as long as they don't find any issues on the test drive. This value was for my location so it could be slightly different for you. I sold Carvana my 2013 MB E-350 for a few thousand more than I paid a local dealer. That's mainly b/c I bought it on Dec 23rd and they had the car for almost 90 days. End of month/year plus a sitting car = awesome deal if you play your cards right.
So I'd say go to Carvana online and get an offer. The best part is they come directly to your house with a Flat Bed truck, test drive, bust out pre-filled paper work, have you sign it, stroke you a check for agreed price(minus any balance you might owe), load the car, give you the plate and drive off into the sunset. It took me roughly 30mins to complete the sale with them. |

The original MSRP for the 18 was: $41,931. They were going to let me get it for $34,999.
