Aircraft 100LL in a Camaro

I recently purchased a camaro ths last weekend, the original owner was a pilot and put some low lead 100 octane aircraft fuel, the vehicle not long after has a CEL, codes for both Banks for "running too lean" we filled the tank twice with 93 after we picked it up to run the fuel through, but the CEL has stayed on, should i be looking anywhere other than the O2 sensors/Cats? someone already told me to check the vaccum lines, but the guy who owned the car said it hadn't ever had any issues before this, so I'm thinking it was the fuel

100 L/L still has a lot of lead in it. I think it ruins the o2 sensors.

Yeah, I'm going to remove the sensors tonight and try to "clean" them the best I can..hopefully that's all the issues there are, i just wanted to see if anyone knew what sensors were reading to cause the code to throw, if it was just the O2's or if it was sensors in the fuel system too...

Dont think you'll have much luck in cleaning them.

Let us know who the pilot is so no one will make the mistake of getting in a plane with this jughead.

Trying before buying new ones never hurts.

Maybe bad cats, definitely would replace the O2 sensors.

Is it showing up as a 'PERMANENT' code? If so, it takes a LOT longer to clear the code, as the engine needs to determine the issue is resolved.

Is it the heavily modded 2011 in your sig? How high is the compression ratio?

If not heavily modified, why put Avgas in an otherwise stock, street vehicle?

I would ask, just how much avgas did he put in the tank, and was it a one-time event or had he been using the avgas for a while?

I had to rebuild the bottom end, new sleeves and pistons as well as a new set of heads... Total cost, about 20 grand so far, not including putting the motor back in the car... due to a failed O2 sensor... from leaded fuel... I run C-16 exclusively... O2 sensors are not that expensive in the grand scheme of things.... Why not just replace them for peace of mind.

Granted my car is making over 2K RWHP, and this happened at about 200 mph and 9000 rpm... however....

My stepfather was a 767 Captain and is one hell of a pilot and aviation mechanic. I have absolutely no problem trusting him with my life and my family’s lives every time he flies us to and from FL in his twin Cessna. Get him behind the wheel of a car though and it’s a completely different story. Dude scares the bejeezus of me! Horrible driver. He has 50+ years of experience working on planes and was even hired by the FAA to do A&P testing, however he has absolutely no clue how to work on cars. The stuff I’ve seen him do to his vehicles would make you cringe.

100LL has tetraethyl lead in it and clogs cats and fouls plugs. Not a good idea
