At least a broken ankle has a better prognosis than a broken hip would... Even if all goes perfectly, her recovery will be rough (one of my employees broke her ankle in August, and is still having a rough go of it - she's only 35)... Sending positive thoughts your way! Let us know if you need anything, even if it's just a cyberhug...

I don't understand the medical jargon, but seems he had a cerebral hematoma from a fall recently... he went from 100 to 0 in just a few short hours.

Anyways.. I'll be back....
Oh.....I'm so sorry for your loss, Mike. My sincere condolences to you and your family. :(

Welcome Skip. How are things in the land of 10,000 ice fishin' opportunities?

A quick poll: How many other women on this thread besides me have gone ice fishing? BTW, ice fishing = dressing in down, sub-zero sleeping bags and driving (please, NOT your Camaro) out on the middle of a frozen lake to spend Sunday afternoon in a shack sitting on old paint buckets (aka freezing your a$$ off), watching football on a battery powered TV, drinking beer and hovering over a hole in the ice, hoping that some fish is hungry enough to hop on your hook (and by fish, I don't mean a guy or a gal ), all while hoping the ice doesn't crack around you, so your ride off this slab of ice doesn't fall in the drink when you're ready to call it quits.

Uh, NO THANKS! I spent time bass fishing with hubby and he made that no fun. No way I'm doing the above. I'm a country girl & no wimp but that does not sound like any fun to me.

I used to live in Minnesota, but was too young to do the ice fishing thing. Sounds fun, but not as fun as fishing in the Puget Sound in a canoe while Orcas swim around you. Yes, a canoe.
Let's just say I don't fish. I buy my fish dinners at the grocery store....
