I'm 50 and am currently recovering from my second hip replacement I got last week. Does that qualify me as an "Old Fart" or "Bionic Old Fart".

Welcome SpeedFreak5 Hope you heal up quick. 49 for just a few more days here. The older we get the longer it takes to heal. Had a bout with Food Poisoning last week and still not recovered 100%.:(

LBM, like my mom used to say to my brother and me, "if you kids don't quit your whining, I'm coming in there and give you something to really whine about! NOW SHUTUP ALREADY!" Tell Rob if he doesn't shut up already the ol' farts group is gonna come an give him something to whine about already!
Think it was some Old Farts that coined the term "Opened a Can of Whupazz."

lightning Sorry to hear about the damage but glad you were on the light end.

On another note - night before last we had sustained winds of 50-60 mph for 12 hours with recorded gusts about 3 blocks north of my house of 102 mph. Thousands of trees down. Debris everywhere. My house lost a few shingles and a piece of aluminum that edges the roof. That's all. I was one of the lucky ones. Others had 100 year old trees fall on their homes or branches come thru the walls. Power was out at my home for about 6 hours. Grandma's house was without power for 24 hours. She stayed with us last night. Some areas are still without power. There is what looks like half of somebody's ladder in my backyard. No idea where that came from. Glad it didn't hit a window. We've got power, we've got water, we've got heat, no internet. How are we ever gonna survive? Hahahahahaha.

P.S. Glad the Seahawks won!!
Lightning......is your Grandma still living......that's great!

Y'all have a great weekend. My Christmas decor is up, thanks to my daughter! Going to North Carolina for the weekend. Y'all behave while I'm gone now!

Thanks SSBUSDRVR, I forgot to mention that I just received my AARP card last month. Is that old fart confirmation or what? Funny, I don't feel that old. Especially when I'm driving my Camaro.

Gee, I hate comin' late to the party. Looks like the gang is all here. Sounds pretty lively.

LBM, the Spring Mountain Range is about 40 miles west of LV and about 10,000 feet up, where it routinely snows. There's even a small ski resort there. It seems that more and more frequetly we get some snow in the valley, mostly just a dusting in the foothills, but every now and then we get azz-whupped in some part of the valley.

Sky Man, thanks for posting the Yves Rossy "Jet Man" Thread. You know the CowBell guy looks like a cousin to the the Geico Cave Man. Hope your 100% soon.

Lighting, glad things weren't worse for you. You ready for the next salvo to hit by tomorrow or Sunday? We had some minor damage here (trees and branches) but nothing compared to UT or SoCal. Be safe!

Hi Paul. Hi Chris, Hi Diane. Hi Freeman. Hi Sugar'n'Spice.

Welcome SpeedFreak5 - hey, we replace worn out car parts - so, why not body parts? I have a 6" titanium plate and 9 screws holding my left humeral head together, so I'm not nearly as bionic a you. Hope you mend soon. (Humeral head? now that sounds disgusting!)

Anybody besides me who doesn't have their holiday decorations up yet? Sunday is the day!

Welcome aboard SpeedFreak5 & welcome to the FiftySomething club. Don't you just love that fountain-of-youth Camaro?

My plan is to decorate on Sunday as well - no Seahawks until Monday the 12th, so Sundays are wide open for now...

We got the tree up and decorated. I think that may be all we get to this year. My tax instructor says the final exam is going to be for us to do Santa's tax return. That ought to be fun. I think he runs a small business and has a vacation home in Florida.

I don't know that Santa's business is small - he's got a ton of international customers, and how many elves does he employ?? Gotta be more than 50 to handle all those orders...

You've got a point there...... he has a lot of charitable donations too. I think he probably wants to know how much of his sleigh is still deductible if he takes it to the drags on weekends............

So the SUV had a clogged radiator... It was constipated and needed an enema.
Being "forced" to take the camaro isn't a bad thing, but the drive home after work had me a little nervous. We had to stay late to do inventory, so didn't leave until well after 10pm. I get out to the car, and it's covered in ice. Of course, I have no ice scraper in the Camaro - she's my fair weather car! So I let her warm up until the windows were clear, not a big deal. But it was only 26 degrees out, and I still have the P Zeroes on
No big problems, thank God, but the front end (yes FRONT end) got squirrely when I drove over a slick manhole cover. After that, I bet the people behind me were wondering why I was swerving around manhole covers the rest of the way home!
I love Ladybug, and know she has great safety ratings, but unless I get some winter tires, I'll feel more comfortable when I get my SUV back, with it's 4WD and studded snow tires...

He only uses it for business one night a year - probably can't deduct much for the sleigh...

Jay, all this talk about Santa's taxes... It's going to be rather complicated, isn't it?
Sounds like you have a tough teacher!!!
