Tuning a 2021 LT-1

My local tune shop says that nobody has broken into 21 ecm for tuning yet. Sounds like BS. I would like to do e-85, tire diameter and get rid of AFM. Anybody done 21's yet? Is there someone in the Detroit area you recommend?

Thanks in advance. Steve

I was told the same thing. I looked up the hptuner support for the 21 camaro, and they show to support it with a single tuner license that is tied to the car. They currently do not have an unlimited license which makes me think why some of these tuners say they don’t support them.

Also the tcm for the A10 transmission cannot be tuned. It is encrypted and no one has cracked it yet from what I understand.

I’m sure someone with far more knowledge than I will chime in. There is also a tuning section on the forum in case you haven’t asked there.

Janetty Racing is tuning my 2021 LT1 in April, Far as I know there is no difference between the 20 and 21.

It looks like HP tuners supports the 2017-2021 Camaro 6.2.

Will they install a power adder or intake/headers/cam/exhaust, too, or is this just a tune?

Several sources claimed unanimously that the new T93 TCM had not been cracked and thus can't be tuned, I have yet to see anything to the contrary, so you're getting an ECM only tune, right?

I put the LT2 intake on myself, with a solar 91 mm Throttle body, done a borla axle back, will be doing mid pipe with secondary cat delete and afm valve delete and squished pipe delete and already installed my E85 sensor kit. I am not modded enough to care about tuning the untuneable trans. I will be doing a 180 stat also. No power adders, no headers, no cam, just hope I will get a 50rwhp increase

I think you will pick up about 60 ponies with those mods and Ted's tune, she's definitely going to be breathing easier.. Keep us posted.

Will do and thanks. I ordered my LT1 non NPP car and what a difference in sound with the borla s mufflers. I didnt waste my money on NPP, I like the dual tip better than the quad and the system is lighter. The Borla S sounds better than any stock NPP with open valves imo. I also did my own conservative air box mod while insuring I get full ambient air versus possible heated under hood air, and removed the snow blocker. One of the things I watch for is to control water temp and IATs, something I did with my 2015 stingray. Those cars start pulling timing at 195 degrees and also pull timing when IATs are over 100 degrees. Lowering and keeping water temp below that and making the air intake track as cool as possible just prevents timing and power loss. The corvette with cold air intake, NPP fuse pulled, borla mid pipe with sec cat delete, 180 stat, my own ported TB, modified outside air intake track, plastic intake cover and coil covers off did 432 rwhp with Janettys conservative 93 octane tune

I see you’re looking at doing the tstat. Keep in mind there have been a ton of failures of most aftermarket tstats (Mishimoto, Weapon X, etc). The only one I’d use is the Katech FYI.

Agreed on the LT1 non npp exhaust. I couldn't take how quiet it was after a year and had the factory suitcase muffler cut off and welded a couple mandrel bent pipes to the factory single tips. I couldn't justify the price of the borla although they do sound amazing. I'm happy with my muffler delete, no drone, sounds good and the car is 30 lbs lighter.

Thank you, and I am well aware of the early T-stat failures and know what they look like compared to the OE stat. I had one of the early stats that are no longer made fail from lingenfelter on my 2015 stingray. I ended up switching the bulb from the lingenfelter to the OE stat and that worked fine. I got a Mishimoto for my 2019 corvette and that looks just like the OE stat and has worked fine for 4500 miles

I bought the Borla S which were very slightly used for $350, and a easy install for myself.

That's a great find, I couldn't even find a decent axle back for that price. No regrets on the delete, best $100 I've spent in a while.

The ECU is supported the T93 TCM for automatic cars is not. That is where your shop is confused.
