AZCamaroFan's EPIC 15,000 Picture Post

As a long time Camaro fan many of us didn't come here just because we liked the 5th Generation. We didn't come here because Transformers was cool. Some of grew up with Camaro's. Our parents had them, we had Hot Wheels Camaro's, and then earlier generations. I've notice from time to time a lot of people do not like the earlier generations and they are bad mouthed for one reason or another. So I dedicate this thread to the 2nd 3rd and 4th Gen Z28's And if you don't like these cars, you need not post.
Although the early 2nd gens are the most liked today the later models became sleeker and sold like no other Camaro's.

The mid 70s also saw the Camaro used in the International Race of Champions

Work on the Third Generation Camaro began in 1975 with a planned 1980 release date. GM went back and forth on whether the car would have front or rear wheel drive. Eventually the release was pushed back to 1982. A painting hung on the wall by Roger Hughet which inspired the designers and gave them what they called "Design religion" Although it does not look like the finished product the flowing lines and backlight is what they were after

The third generation Z28 had roadholding only exotics matched. Car and Driver tested the Z28 and mustang Gt in 1983. The Z28 .83g on the skidpad. The mustang .76
They were not satisfied though. The Camaro was still being raced in IROC

Chevrolet decided to create an even higher performance model. cornering power would be in the .88-.90g range. The car would be the first Camaro with Fuel Injection

Finally the production versions. They had the roadholding of the 3rd generation, with far better ride and body stiffness. The LT1 and LS1 motors made the 4thgeneration Z28's the fastest Camaro's in history, whether 0-60 or top speed.
