Trading in for a 2012

I've been thinking the last few weeks that I want to trade in my 2010 Camaro SS/RS for a similar 2012 Model, but I need some advice. For one, does anyone in the Sherwood Park or Edmonton area know of any dealers that will be willing to not rape me on the price of ordering a new one, with a trade in? I obviously know that I am going to be loosing a lot of the value on this car due to minor cosmetic damages that are the results of it being a daily driver but I mean I don't want to have to be completely ripped off.

25 517 kilometers = 15 855 miles

There are also a few dents and deep gouges on the car which makes me wary of dealers

I just think with all of the improvements in the 2012 it will make for a better more enjoyable car

you will get raped no matter where you go. A good friend is a salesman at a big Chevy dealer locally and they have been getting Camaro trade ins and according to him, the average for 2SS/RS with low-average miles, in like-new condition is $27k. Of course, you can always get more but the dealer will rape you one way or the other, guaranteed! Best to sell it yourself.

That's a BIG drop from what KBB is showing that dealers are buying the same car for $32K in excellent condition. However, your price reflects a "FAIR" condition 2SS/RS camaro. But it depends on location also. So while, I know I could take my Camaro to my dealer which I bought it from and get KBB for my car today.

Try selling the car on the outside so you can at least break even. If you still owe on the car, try asking for what you owe on it still and then make a decision from there. I asked the same question to a local dealer and even they told me i would not get whats its worth on a trade in. I was just asking out of curiousity but i thought it was nice of him to be honest with me.

Keep the 2010 IMO unless you're ready to part ways with a heap of cash. Throw that into fixing ur car, may be a new paint job or mods instead.

The problem is that while I love driving the car, i hate it at the same time, the roof rattles and short of tearing that off, there is nothing that can fix it. I've been to the dealer 4 times for the same problem and it replicates itself after just a day of driving. So unfortunatly fixing it is basicaly replacing the entire top of the car.

If there are issues that really bug you, and you're not upside down on the loan (if you have one) I would say get something that is going to please you. No sense on holding onto a car you're not enjoying.

KBB is a guesstimate and if u are getting what the book says on a trade, likely dealer is giving it to you hard on the other end, guaranteed. You are right, location also play a role.

Low to mid $20,000 I was told. I'm going to hold off for now and sell private and maybe just save for a ZL1

I am working with a dealer now to trade in my 2010 2SS/RS L99 in for a 2011 2SS/RS LS3. They offering me $26,500 site unseen for my car, just knowing that it needs 2 rear tires. My car has 22,600 miles. I am sure I can get a little more out of it once they see it. Any ways I will be dropping my car payment by about $80 per month and getting a new car, not bad.
