GM and a whole crapload of other companies have dropped their in-person presence at CES. As a result my company is also no longer sending anyone to CES. We will participate virtually. GM will still launch the Silverado EV there virtually and Mary Barra will still deliver the keynote address virtually. I was looking forward to being able to crawl all over a physical property and take a ton of detailed photos and talk to the GM reps on hand. Oh well. If that was my biggest problem then I would be truly blessed.

There’s gonna be a ton of cool automotive stuff discussed at CES, but I guess I’ll get most of it while sitting in my home office. I’ll pass on the cool stuff in this thread.

Odd CT5 spy photo that appears to have the C-pillar treatment opened into an actual window.

Any chance of a web feed link(?) to Mary Berra's presentation? I looked on the CES web-site and didn't see anything.

Bummer about no attendance....Good luck.

Yeah, I don't know, those stats are down significantly. The truck looks to be about the same size as the 2nd gen. I guess it's possible they went mixed metals and cut weight. I bet though that they go down to a single engine to reduce costs. That leaves the 2.7 in the Silverado?

Mary is the last person who should be giving the key notes on a Silverado, but oh well...

For those still waiting for their new Camaro to come in, it coulda been worse. You could be waiting for a Corvette...

Friend of mine just bought a Maverick, absolutely loves it. Ford might be on to something with the small truck idea.

Saw one the other day, not bad looking in person granted it was a Lariat trim in a nice color. Saw a bare bones one the other day.. yuck

Maverick has some awkward proportions for sure, but I think it's a strong product.

The rear license plate placement is infuriating though.

Ford doesn't own the segment. Hyundai released one before them.

True but that thing is hideous lol. And the maverick can be had in more affordable configurations.

Is the Hyundai capable of carrying 4x8 sheets in the bed?

These trucks (both Hyundai and Ford) have tiny beds. Almost useless. And that's coming from a guy that has a Colorado CC with a 5'2” short box.

But you can carry 4x8 sheets in the Maverick's bed.
