Yeah, I’m the same way. Hard work goes a long way. But I’ve had several positions tell me that. I guess they think it’s better to pay someone who is somewhat qualified a lower pay rate than to pay someone more for being over qualified. I’ve been told that I did well in the interviews. So I’m not sure what it is. Oh well.

exactly why I wanted new. Could have gotten something smaller and cheaper but older and probably have to replace this and that and that and this. No thanks

I bought a foreclosure in 2016, my first home, with the intention of doing some work as I went along.

House flooded 5 months after I bought it

Luckily despite not having flood insurance, FEMA and Restore LA compensated me enough to cover all the costs and had enough left over to pay off the Jeep, so it was a 'free' full house renovation if you don't count the fact that I did all the repair work myself. I replaced the entire AC system this past spring, so it shouldn't be due for any major repairs soon. The new AC pays for almost half itself each month with lower power bills even with me running 4* colder inside than I used to.

So, I owe $86K on a house that's worth $135K (paid $96K). Can't beat good equity...

3BD/2BA 1,161 sq ft. Built in 2004. Plenty to start a future in. Being a home owner can be trying at times...but I'm pretty fond of it.

Yes mam. About a foot of water in my house. The most surprising part was, when I went to sleep at midnight the rain had stopped, the ditches were half empty. Nothing out of the ordinary. Got up at 8AM with water coming through the doors

Crap. I had no idea. I’m sorry but at least you’re all fixed up. I remember that. I was getting ready for my senior year of college and we pushed back going up due to that. Parts of Highland rd were still flooded when we went up

Thanks. All good House is nice now. Couple small details left but I'll get to them eventually.

I'm not fond of the fact that no matter what you do to a house theres always something else.

I'm glad to know that you have managed to renovate it and it seems like it is in a good condition now.
