Thats why IMO why the ZLE is still fully loaded.
The other reason - is that cars with less options, should cost less...

The Z/28 would have sold well if they offered both a version with minimal options, and the loaded up ZL1-like luxuries. The base would have then sold in few numbers, but it's not like it cost GM more to offer the stripper, it costs less, as should the car.

Team Camaro is taking note though, hence the LT1 version of the 6th gen now available with less content than the previous base SS.

It actually did though. From what I understand, because they offered the Z/28 without air conditioning, the car had to be crash test certified all over again. The R&D costs for the car were very high. Combine that with the cost of the LS7, the suspension and the carbon ceramic brakes and that's why it had such a large price tag.

Hopefully, there isn't someone like De Nysschen calling shots for C8 like he was for Cadillac. Still think that guy single handedly did more to harm Cadillac than anyone before him.

He did wonders for the products themselves, but the naming scheme became real stupid real fast.

The names, moving HQ to New York and his ridiculous Pinnacle program for dealers were all terrible.

Would love to see the article/info on crash testing without A/C costing more...that has to assume that no 5th gen other than the Z/28 could be delivered without A/C as well.

Also, I understand the cost of the LS7, suspension - that wasn't the stripper options I was referring, since they are additional options not shared by any other 5th gen.

Which lead me to explaining the LT1 6th gen. So I agree, the Z/28 cost GM more, but they only offered the stripped version with limited options like speakers and A/C. Hence, why I explained they could have sold more by offering the LS7, carbon brakes, Multimatic Spool shocks, etc on both the luxury equipped Z/28 and still offer a stripper version that SHOULD cost less. GM isn't alone in attempting to make money by offering "limited production" run stripper cars, the enthusiast community has seen Ford and Porsche all do it as well when offering the same powertrain in a car with less options, yet charge more due to keep it rare. That's where my point stems from.

GM and Honda sign Memo of Understanding to work together on vehicles and technologies for North America.

https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/.../0903-mou.html

My understanding from talking to members of the press who have had the opportunity to ask questions is
  • cars and pickups are not included
  • existing engines and transmissions are on the table
  • new engines and transmissions and new technologies for them are on the table
  • economies of scale through purchasing and combined logistics are on the table

Let’s get a LS7 into the NSX and see what happens

You're crazy. Another piece of added disgust with this news, at an envious GM that wishes to be anything other than themselves.

With the current wave of GM styling and poor decisions I'm having '80s flashbacks. Maybe GM will bring back the Citation as a hybrid, 4-wheel drive.

Note to GM: Allow Honda to instruct you how to build reliable/durable, refined, and aurally pleasing 4-cylinder engines. Better yet, just purchase engines from Honda for use in your vehicles.
