They did back in the 1920s thru the 1930s time period when they built cars and trucks with wood frames to attach the sheet metal body parts to. Elon Musk is a hero to the Green New Deal folks out there.

Wood is a common substitute for unavailable OEM parts. Tesla isn't the first.

nah, GM just substitutes cheaper components that dont meet the required specifications and ships that instead.
Then tries to cover up any accidents / deaths that result from this or deflect it with some ownership juggling. |
