CT5-V Blackwing vs Tesla Model S Plaid vs BMW M5

Anyone seen this new video?

https://youtu.be/j7YqdGt19tw

Cammisa is pretty opinionated as he should be, but I agree with his consensus around this. Having a high horsepower, well handling car is enjoyable to me personally, and although most people get hung up about track times, 0-60, etc., really most people should focus on how enjoyable the driving experience is.

The times are definitely changing though..

THIS. I've been arguing with EV folks over this continually, those that care only about stats, someone else gets it apparently. Well done. "... but to hell with the numbers." Agreed.

Yep, I've said the same thing to V8 Camaro owners who like to shit on V6 and Turbo 4 owners.

The way I see it, if you can't appreciate all cars for what they are, you are not really a "car guy". Everyone has their preferences, sure, and may want something specific for their needs and desires. Doesnt mean you cant have fun driving something else, or appreciate other cars for what they are. If you are just all about one specific car, you are just a fan boy.

The 10 speed auto will eat the M6's breakfast lunch and dinner

I guess you might get a M6 if you want to feel cool and impress 16 yr old kids working at the drive through

These aren't your granddaddies slush boxes anymore

To me a Camaro is a Camaro.

I was talking to a young man in the Home Depot parking lot he has a T4 Gen6 and it looks pretty cool with the appearance mods he has done.

I told him I really like his car and that made him pretty happy

I think you're missing the point. Those of us that love MTs all realize ATs shift faster than we ever could. Again, "....to hell with the numbers"

I've never understood this. I welcome those cars. Bread and butter. They allow GM to offer the V8 honestly.

I blame those guys for the numbness of vehicles, including EVs.

People just want to put it in "D" and go. Sure, faster, but numb.

Gotta politely disagree. My '71 Cutlass has a hard shifting Turbo 400 and it can be a tire frying BLAST to drive. Nothing like a good ol' school 3500 RPM power-brake. Hold out the shifts to about 6000 RPM and you're rewarded with a few good "barks" at each gear change. Not as fast as a lot of modern 4 popper vehicles but a hell of a lot more personality.
