I thought you were referring to while you were driving. The 10-speed transmission is noisy at idle, but I don't think I've seen anything on the 8 speed. It could easily be the torque converter. An engine stethoscope would help pinpoint the noise. They also make something called chassis ears which are microphones on wires used for identifying suspension noises.

@ 65mph and you drop it in to neutral the noise goes away ,right? To me it seems you have a differential problem like pinion bearings.just a guess

So my car has been in and out of the dealer for thisnhumming noise at around 65mph in deceleration. They changed a couple parts and it still does not fix it. They're calling a GM engineer to come look at it. Looks like this is headed to a buy back possibility.
