The best dealership in the bay area is Abel Chevrolet. I respect those guys, however, unfortunately, every time I'd go there with my Z06, the problem would vanish -- no joke. Maybe because it was a long drive, or the heat or I don't know what. If I'm unable to reproduce the issue for them, then they have little to go on and there was no recall at that time.

Abel is the dealership I plan to go to with this recall in hand.
Then my advice would be to get as much video evidence you can of it... maybe even have a friend ride along to help get the video. I know it sounds really stupid...but sometimes this is better than telling them..

If you had, and didn't like the GT-R, then the Viper should be your next car.

My concern with the GT-R is the turbo lag.
I've never owned one but have driven a friend's 2014 GT-R and the lag wasn't terrible but a bit annoying IMO.

I'm really thinking Viper might be my next car.

i don't think they are any worse than any turbo car.. just if you bog it down and you get out of the boost, you are going to have to build some.

With the problems you're having, the last car I'd consider would be a gt350. Engine problems aside, that thing would feel like it had aids after getting used to LT4 torque.

I'm with ya on the viper though. I'd love to experience one myself.

Haven't read all of the posts on here but as someone who has owned a long line of M cars, C7 Z06 and ZLE..., good Luck!

My C7 Z06 was rock solid with no issues after 15,000 miles of driving. The only issue was high oil temps on track (didn't help it was an Auto). For road use, it was fantastic.

I expect the ZLE to perform the Jekyll and Hyde experience even better than the Z06.

I wouldn't touch the GT350 with a 10 foot pole for all the engine issues they've been having (well documented) across the board. As someone, who has also owned 2 Ford's before - I can vouch for how pathetic Ford's servicing and build quality is.

The only good thing about the GT350 is the exhaust - In every other single objective way - the ZLE is world's apart. This is after driving my friend's GT350 on a spirited run 2 weekend's ago. The ZLE's chassis, power, steering, transmission are absolutely world class.

As far as other alternatives that are durable/reliable - I honestly cannot think of anything apart from GM that offers value and reliability coupled to a V8.

I had a 2014 gtr i will take my zl1 le over it everyday.

After all the reading...Keep it. I love this car and I always look at other options but keep coming back to the ZL1. I had 2 Vipers and loved them, and never any issues.

The problem with these cars is there isn't really anything I want that's anywhere near the value these cars are. In my view these are the best example of bang for the buck out there. There are many cars like 911 GT3, 570S, etc. I would love to have, but I just can't pull the trigger and pay that much. We'll see what's next...hoping for big things out of the C8...

I disagree. I think you will be able to grab one well under 80k 2-3 months after release. The 500 will not hold ADMs like the 350r did.

I believe it. Be honest, which car do you enjoy more? ZR1 or ZL1?
