2020 2SS 1LE won't spin the tires?

I have a 2020 1LE and even if I turn all the nannies off it won't spin the tires up at all after let the clutch all the way out and then stomp on it. I thought the with 455hp it should light them up.

I have used the search engine and I didn't find anything on this.

And i'm on a private road, not out with anyone else.

Do the stock tire grip that well? If I put it in competitive mode and do the launch the tires will spin a bit but it never chirps going into 2nd either.

Spinning isn't getting you down the track faster but I really thought the car should at least be able to break traction in a straight line if you wanted to.

The premium gas is only 91 here, would 93 make any difference?

Heat in rear tires will make spinning harder, but if you hold the revs at 4500 in 1st with the clutch pressed, then side step the clutch and floor it, you should spin for quite some time. I chirp 1-> 2 and 2 -> 3 fairly regularly.

To do this consistently I simply go to sport mode and hold the traction button for 5s. All systems off and up to me to manage slip and side angle. Softer damper settings help with crappy roads here in the Mid East.

Also keep in mind that depending on temp and surface type, there will be times where the tires do spin, but make no sound. Due to eLSD this just feels like acceleration loss.

If you really have all the nanny's off it should spin no problem... I get slippin' and sliddin' in my 2SS A10 with the nanny's on, just not as much as with them off... This car has plenty of power to roach the tires as long as you'd like, just need to get the settings right...

All of the nannies are off and it’s a 6 speed. Both the traction control and stability control lights are on. I’m still having fun with the car though.

my car in stock trim would not spin at all if the car was rolling whatsoever. if i sidestepped the clutch from a dig it would spin. i think the stock tune has a lot of torque management in 1st gear.

I have literally never had this issue. My car will break the tires at unfortunately any freaking point. This is a strange thing to read. I would hope 91 doesn't affect that much. I am going to keep watching the replies.

My 2021 2SS 1LE will light them up no problem. Having said that, I'm at 600 ft elevation. Not sure where in Nevada you are, but the elevation may take some of the steam out of the LT1.

Did you say unfortunately? Come on now, you're driving a Camaro... but then again, guess I should keep quiet
(...maybe try snow&ice mode? j/k )

I’m in Las Vegas, I didn’t check the actual elevation here. But I’m guessing around 1000’. And it’s plenty hot, 104 or more when I was running around and trying this yesterday.

I put the Chevy stainless pedal kit on which provides another gas pedal. The new pedal seems to feel a bit different than the one from the factory. I wonder if that makes a difference?

My 370Z had about 350HP and it would spin through 1st and 2nd no problem. I thought the 1LE with another 100+ Hp would do the same.

That’s what mine is doing. Everything is off, I stop and get the car rolling with the clutch all the way out and stomp on it and no spin at all. Have you done some modding on your car now?

Las Vegas is around 2,200 ft elevation, at 104°F your Density Altitude would be around 5,700 ft meaning your car probably has about 20-25% less power than at sea level on a standard day.

Yeah, one of our last autoX events had a parking lot, an oval, and then it ended on the drag strip. With little drag experience, it was hard as heck for me to keep the wheels from spinning on the strip. At least the yaw control helped keep me straight.

Agree on holding for 5 seconds. That's the setting you want to spin everything and help you buy more tires.

What is dramatic in these cars is how much the electronics are metering power and power delivery. I like competitive mode or track mode for the throttle delivery, but the modes progressively give you more power to work with, and make it harder to control the car. But if you're ever cruising thinking that it's not delivering enough power...just switch the modes.

It seems like the auto will spin them up easily. I’m not sure if the 1st gear ratio and the ring end gear is lower overall than the 6 speed with a 3.73 or not.
