Exhaust installation near DC
I'm looking to order the Solo J-Pipes axleback and a Z28 CAI in the near future. Are there any reputable performance shops where I can get this installed?
When I flirted with the idea this summer, I was quoted anywhere from $100 - $140 for install. I ended up going with a custom exhaust (magnaflow mufflers welded with stock tips) and while it sounds great at start up, it really doesn't sound deep after 3k rpms, and the drone in the cabin is too much. (for what it's worth, the guy who did the custom exhaust was great and the work was top notch, it's just not what I'm looking for). Thanks! Charles |

My vote is Fast Lane Performance in Brandywine, MD. Robert is a very knowledgeable guy and does great work

Thank you for reaching out. You're about a 2 hours from me, but I will keep you in mind when I pull the trigger. If I'm headed up to Jersey or Philly for the weekend I could make a quick detour.

Is this for a '79 camaro? Or 5th gen?
Sounds like they quoted you for about 1.5 to 2 hours of labor, which seams fair? What are you trying to spend? $50 for the job? |

It's a 5th Gen (2015). I was just curious if there were any better deals out there, as well as if there was a preferred location to have it done (in the range of the prices I had been quoted).

You are looking at around 2 hours of work. A "reputable" shop that specializes in performance parts will charge you $80-$120 and hour. The high end will be closer to the city.

So if you read my original post you'll see I didn't say anything about the price being too high, I was just stating what I was quoted when I looked at getting an exhaust installed over the summer. BTW, I am probably going to be ordering the solo exhaust from you guys. Do you still have an install shop? Charles |
