Anyone else pay a premium when they bought their Camaro?

I hate to admit it, but at the time I bought my Camaro 2SS/RS the car was almost impossible to find at a dealership... and if you could find one it either didn't have the options I wanted, or was already pre-sold, or was a v6.

So when I found my 2SS/RS with a M6, I just had to have it. The dealer put a sticker on if of $42,500 I believe, but I didn't care... I had to have it. In the end I negotiated it down to $38k-$39k I believe. Now I'm sure that isn't an issue anymore because I can easily find them at local dealerships, but hey, patients hasn't always been my strong point. At 12k miles later, I have no regrets.

Anyone else say "screw it" and pull the trigger so they could have the car sooner??

I just bought this March. The "craze" had ended if you looked around. No premium price for me.

I don't have an SS like you do so my car was already cheaper to start with...

But, the dealer had it at ~$30,700. Five hours later and with some serious negotiating skills I got out the door, tax title and tags for $21,300 even. My Camaro has a sun roof, synergy package, and the manual transmission. That price also included the $150 spare tire dealer add on as well.

Not bad if I say so myself.

Oh I am!! Haha... Not the first time I've bought a car when it first came out for a slight premium.

I ordered my car last July and paid a premium, didn't care, had to have it! I got the first Transformer edition and after seeing it, my dealer raised the premium for every other Transformer they ordered. That made me feel a little better.

Got mine 5/30/09 and paid $1000 over msrp. We could only find 2 at dealerships in a 300 mile radius. The first guy wanted $3000 over and he wasn't budging. We drove on down the road, paid $1000 over and brought her home that day. Being one of the very first to own this fine piece of machinery was well worth the premium to me. No regrets, mate.
