Onstar light turned red
I had to take mine in for warranty covered Onstar gremlin - light would turn red and also blink red at times or not come on at all.
Dealer unplugged it and plugged it back in and it seemed to fix it. They just scratched their heads over it and guessed it was a loose connection.

sounds like the red ring on death. Xbox360 issue.

I had same issue its was a bad connection in the headliner between the shark fin
|

I had that happen to me once on my way to San Francisco. I noticed it was red, then when I looked back it was green. I called OnStar and they ran a disgnostic on the system and said everything checked out fine. They told me it would do that if a connection was lost. Give them a call and have them check the system out for you to make sure it is running properly.

Mine started doing that a week or so ago. Look at it one minute it's green, look again it's red. Called onstar to run diagnostics and they said it's got an antenna problem.
