Replacing Diffuser (is rear bumper removal required)

Question -- would replacement of the rear diffuser/lower valence require the removal of the rear bumper?

or can it be swapped while the rear bumper is on the car?

It is partly attached to the plastic piece(between bumper cover & aluminium bumper) under the bumper with clips you cant get to while on the car.

Hi Killa22!,
as I had written on my thread.. here is my suggestion: go, take your time and remove the bumper if you want a professional final result.

See my old reply, explaining why:

If you want a professional result, it is mandatory. The diffuser has some metal clips (two or three, as I remember) that are positioned just in the center of the part. If you don't pull the whole bumper, the risk of damages is quite high. Indeed, the final finish of the paint on the recesses and corners where the two parts join can't be perfectly painted if the diffuser is not taken apart from the main bumper.

See you!!,
Eos

PS: Please, post some BEFORE/AFTER pics of your car!

Thanks Eos -- will get around to doing it sometime this weekend. Throwing on a ZL1 Diffuser on my 1LE, sprayed down a satin clear over a coat of black to match the splitter & ZL1 sideskirts. Will get it on once it cures.

Will get some pics up once its done.
