I'm leaving the basic body stock on mine. stock spoiler hood etc. But grilles, emblems, exhaust, programmer, suspension, headers and air intake are definitely modded. After a few more years I'll consider stroking it.

What so many people forget is the insurance ramifications of modifying a car. If you mess with anything relating to vehicle performance, you can easily invalidate your insurance, leaving you in a serious legal mess if you ever have an accident.

It's also the easiest thing in the world to invalidate your warranty by adding non-Chevy approved parts or workmanship to the car.

If the vehicle is leased or financed, expect the bank to frown upon modifications too.

Finally, if you trade your car for another one, expect a dealer to take a dim view of most mods. Expect to take a serious hit to the value unless you've done something exceptional to your car. For the most part you get to lose the money you spent on the mods and in addition, you also lose residual value too; a double hit.

I just think that generally, you have to consider these factors very seriously before you start messing with the car...
I'm not trying to be a expert in but I modify my cars and trade them in every 2 years. I have always gotten 2-3 thousand above kbb. Maybe its because everytime I buy a car I have gone thru the same salesmanager the last 5 years They always don't mind my cars because they are unique and they always sell within 2 months

Our Camaro is worse than our Harleys....can't leave them stock either. But so far everything that has gone on or in the car is licensed GM Products.
I have to agree....it's half the fun of owning a Camaro. Making it "yours" and eaiser to spot in a crowd

here here, if you don't count tint; ride is currently un-modded but that will probably change early next year when I have the cash to do so.

I really wanted to keep it stock but....I wanted a louder exhaust and different intake.

I am done with any new mods. Honestly.... No more.

Modding the 4th gen was fun. I did 90% of the work myself. But when i traded it in, I thought "what a waste of time and money".

No mods until the warrantee is up. Once the warrantee is gone, I'll start adding things.

I'm putting stuff on mine alittle at a time. If I can get my husband to quit putting so much money in our 68'. It gets everything first. But, we did buy the extra warrtany so we have to be carefull w/ some stuff in the new one for now. But, after warrtany watch out.lol

Well I might have to do something with the exhaust. It's just too darn quiet.

After that, the 99 z28 gets the toys for awhile.
