Congrats. I estimate I'll hit the 10k mark in about 7 or so more years at my current rate of progress. I'll be sure to take a pic if I'm capable of working a camera in 2016-17

As stated in the last part of my post, it's a DORK moment. One of those things that just made me go OOH OH OH OH....

How often do you get to see a car roll 9,999 to 10,000? That's the dork moment...

Just a fun little snipit into my life, and I wanted to share it.

Cool I just hit 10k on my way to the Astoria/Warrenton meet this past weekend. Every 500-1000 miles it seems to get a little meaner.

Did any of you who have already hit the 10k mark notice a decrease in your gas mileage?

Now don't throw things as me, ok? I'm asking because a guy was telling me that our cars' computers are set by GM to decrease efficiency at 10k, then again at 15k, etc etc. He told me to watch my mileage for the "drop" that will come like clockwork. Hmmmm....

He supposedly works/worked for GM (I don't know this for sure but he drives all GM cars and has a Corvette, so it's not like he's hating on the cars) and he told me that we need to take our cars in to have the computers reprogrammed....

Is he just pulling my leg ? If it's true, why would the computer would be intentionally made to do this? Any ideas?

The question is why would GM do that? Not to say it can't be done, but it sure would be a waste of money writing the code for it.

so GM would risk ruining it's newfound reputation so we could have bad gas milage.... at calculated intervals

not sure how people come up with this stuff
