ECS supercharger without the restrictor

I'm going to get my car retuned for the alky control meth and the addition of the ADM FPCM (just had ZL1 pump and Kenne Bell BAP) and I was thinking about taking out the restrictor plate. I should have enough fuel with pump and ID 850's if the boost is not too high without the plate. Currently I am at 10 PSI and the existing plate was "opened up" by Matt Sorian when he tuned it.

Oh, I know there are other variables so to make this simple I just have headers and a stock bottom end and cam.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I dont think the zl1 pump/adm fpcm/bap will be enough fuel. A few members on here that had the restrictor removed and a cam made around 800 rwhp. It will make around 15 psi with the restrictor removed. If anyone would know it would be matt sorian see what he says and let us know.

To give you an idea of what a non-restricted car can do, my car dynoed at 798 without the restrictor on 14.5lbs or so. Stock block, Novi 1500, blower cam, Meth, Full exhuast, Lingenfelter twin pump setup, DSS 9in conversion and a 6 speed. Brain isnt working yet (super busy morning) forgot what injectors I have on the car.

Don't go over 13psi for longitivtiy. More could and has been done but it's not worth the risk

thanks for the great feedback

Looks like it's time to get out the dremmel tool and go at the restrictor! Last thing I want to do is kaboom the motor. I'll talk to Matt and my awesome mechanic J-Rod and see if they concur with 13psi. Seems like a good number to me

Mine was touching 16psi and 850RWHP without the restrictor. I have the ZL1 and BAP setup with ID850's. It was showing signs of running out of pump. I would never race it at that level without more pump.

You're pushing it at 13 lbs. Without the restrictor I was at 15.3lbs., making 811. Supporting mods is the key to make the motor stay alive longer, so meth is a good thing. LT's will help not only by increasing power, but it will relieve back pressure. If you just want to increase a few pounds of boost, every .1" is equivalent to 1lb of boost. If you don't have it already, you should definitely think of LT's. Power will increase, and boost will drop.
