Best kind of automatic transmission for high horsepower (1800+HP)

Hey guys, as the name says I was wondering what the best kind of automatic transmission for ridiculously high horsepower numbers, like around 1800-2000+ horse. I'm going to be a building my Camaro that's gonna have that much power and the transmission is screwing me over because I can't find one. Thnx in advance for the information and plz be civil in your posts.

Guess I should also mention, I'm specifically looking for a 6-speed auto if possible but will do with 5 or more gears.

Could be my inexperience & lack of fully understanding of how autos work but is there a six speed variant of the th400 other than its grandkid the 6l80e which I was was already looking at but the highest rated one I found was 1,200 horse from PATC. Will google for information tho.

You can make a TH400 a six speed by adding a gear vendors overdrive.
https://www.gearvendors.com/hrgm3s.html

http://www.jakesperformance.com/TH400.html
They offer transmissions for 1500+hp and it mentions 2000hp+ combos as well.

Out of curiosity, what are you doing with the car you want 1800hp+ and a six speed auto, besides going REALLY fast?

TH400 is basically your only choice for that power.

Yup, that or a glide. Your at a minimum 1000hp off of what any 6 speed can handle, don't care who builds it.

Yeah TH400 with about $5k or more in just parts and if you have to have a 6 speed throw a GV on the rear like Blake said.

Well if it makes a difference, I'll be adding a trans cooler from Mishimoto to the setup, will that help a six speed or will it make no diff?

You're looking to make 2000hp and talking about running a cheap a$$ trans cooler.

Trans cooler don't necessarily increase holding power. It's the decrease in trans temps that help it live and live longer.

If your talking 1800rwhp you better look at a Glide. Power Glide or a Turbo Glide.

I'm talking 1800+ @ the crank, altho some demented part of me wishes it was @ the wheels, tho it could be close because i'll be replacing the OEM motor mounts & bushings with ones from BMR Racing, altho with the motor mounts wont be using the poly will be using the pucks & adding sub-frame connectors from Granetelli Motorsports. Here are links to both:
