Can someone tell me what these are? (ZL1 Alternator Generator Splash Shield)

As the title says, I have no idea what these are, or do. I ask because I am nearly done piecing together everything needed for my ZL1 front bumper conversion (5th gen style, not 6th gen).

I already have pretty much everything else for the conversion, some of it not necessary, but I really wanted the complete look. I have the complete basic kit...bumper, fog lights and bezels, brackets, ZL1 grill (might still use my Heritage grill), splitter, and bolt and plastic rivets kits, etc... I also bought ZL1 wheel well liners and decided to splurge on the ridiculously expensive OEM front ZL1 splash shields ($240, really??), which arrived today. I know a lot of the is not needed and optional. Not sure which direction I am going with the hood yet.

But for the life of me, I can't figure out what these things are for or do. I am guessing they are part of the brake duct setup and maybe attached to the wheel well liners? All the diagrams I find are are the parts explosion diagram type, which makes it hard to visualize. I may also post this in the ZL1 forums, but that place is a ghost town. Thanks guys!

Yeah I know, alternator splash shields left and right lol. I'm guessing the ZL1 alternator is mounted low/differently than the SS. The only reason I am asking is because I read somewhere that they somehow also have to do with the brake duct setup. I think I am going on a wild goose chase for no dang reason. One bad piece of information can throw you completely off.

Edit: Alright, I found the GM ZL1 brake duct installation instructions and these are not pictured or mentioned anywhere. So I am good in that regard. Bad news, the brake duct kit has been discontinued for since forever. Anyhow, nothing to see here folks, just an idiot with diminishing online search skills!

The brake ducts have been discontinued for a while now-you would be very lucky to find a set. My left one has a small crack in it that no one would ever see, but it drives me crazy to know its there-been looking for one for a while.

Yeah I saw that. I swear GM discontinues all the good stuff. I have even tried some of the Ebay salvage shops like LeeC salvage and Hawks motorsports - man, they have so much stuff for these cars. Oh well, it would probably cost a small fortune anyways. I didn't have my heart set on it, more of a 'while I'm in there' kind of thing for when I do the conversion.

Just sucks for those of you that already have them and need to replace something. 3D printing is always an option to replace or repair I guess.

Hello,

These 2 pieces are the inner fender close outs from the frame to the front sub-frame inboard of the front struts. They are installed with push pins.
They keep road debris kicked up by the tires from entering the engine bay.

I thought all Camaros used the splash shields from 2012-15. So you may or may not need them on a 2010? I dunno. I put the entire ZL1 front end setup on our 2010 back in 2014 and I don't recall buying or using those.

And those air ducts are CHEAP ass plastic that are basically 2 halves that sloppily clip together IIRC. They feel flimsy and gimmicky. But they do work to a degree.

Awesome man, thank you so much! They are fairly inexpensive, so I may just get them since I also got the ZL1 liners.
