Aluminum or steel flywheel? (L11-S clutch)
So i am looking to buy a monster here real soon and was wondering about input from people who have driven on the street with the lightweight aluminum flywheel? I autocross mainly with the car but it does go on a sunday cruise and to/from events. I can handle a little more RPM modulation from like stop lights and minimal stop/go traffic, any other woes people have experienced?

Aluminum and dont look back
The thing they don't tell you is that clutch is heavier than the stock clutch on our cars. I think it's about 4-5 pounds heavier so their aluminum flywheel will offset the additional weight nicely. Currently I have a stock clutch with an aluminum Fidanza flywheel. I think it shaved about 10-12 pounds off and it's a nice improvement. I had to add some revs over stock to get moving but nothing crazy

One note, both Monster flywheels are steel, one is just lightened by removing unnecessary material.
From your intended use, I would say go with the lightened flywheel. |
