Center Screen Failure
Two days ago as I shifted out of reverse (manual) my screen became a sea of gray pixels. I still had bluetooth connection. I restarted the car. Left screen fine, center stack one, gray pixels. Got home, left two hours later. Upon ignition, left screen was as usual with the booting dance of graphics. Center one nothing then suddenly back to normal!! It's been fine for a few days. Chevy service rep said not to bring in till it fails. Has this happened to any of you?

Im starting to have the same problem. I'm waiting for it to fail more consistently. So far no TSB's on it.
Some days its fine, others it acts up.

Sahowley also had center screen probs... reworked bezel supposedly cured it. Perhaps similar issues?

I was at my dealer today and was talking about the new C7 with the service advisor and he said they have had a couple right off the truck with a similar problem you describe. He said GM is looking into the problem. He also said there have been other bugs in them...

Thanks for the response. These bugs are inevitable. That's what the warranty is about. Otherwise, it's an awsome car.

I am having a problem with my video screen flickering on and off. It does this intermittently. It happens for a couple of days then will be fine for a couple of days. Nothing in area behind screen so that doesn't appear to be the problem. I plan on taking in to dealer next week but just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issue. Other than the dash dimming issue (apprently fixed with a software update) and a rattle under the console the car has been flawless for the first 3k miles. My VIN is 643 so one of the earlier ones.

Is there any confirmed info on a screen replacement? I heard chatter about possibly jan-feb, any of that true?
Tghamm, what is the cause of your rattle under the console? Fixable yet? |

Yes! Went completely black, then flickered, then came and stayed on. Maybe software issue ...VIN 3563

I did not have the problem described ... But what I did have was a radio/Nav screen that was not responsive to the touch ... It was replaced.

Well, I experienced the clicking and screen switching randomly for the first time this morning. I noted a couple of things. First, the clicking is the same sound you hear when switching between screens by touching the screen icons. It is not a mechanical click such as a relay or metal on metal contact would make. Second, the screen does not break up and pixelate, like it would if the issue were electronic interference. Third, this was by far the coldest morning yet since I got the car, at -1 degree F. This leads me to believe the problem is not necessarily the screen failing. I suspect its an issue of either a connection that becomes loose with temperature change or perhaps a cold bezel or mount that changes shape just enough to put stress on the touch screen. This stress is then "tricking" the screen into thinking an icon has been pressed when in reality it has not. And if the stress continues, it can act like the screen has been touched continuously, and cause repeated screen switching and clicking. Lowering the screen appears to be removing this stress, allowing the touch screen to catch its breath so to speak, and that's why the clicking stops.
This seems to be the most likely issue, as the person above stated the dealer shimmed the bezel and fixed it on that car. I will see what happens when I leave the office for lunch. Its supposed to warm into the low 20s by then. I suspect I will have no screen issues.
