Just got my Whipple
My new Whipple 2.9 showed up today. I'm planning to get it installed soon. I need suggestions on what Cam Kit I should order. I found posts on this site, but most are from years ago.
My car is an LS3 M6 2010, and has Kooks 1 7/8" Long Tubes, Cat and Muffler delete, CIA, MGW Short throw, and 305/17" Drag Radials. I also have a good tuner who's done a great job on past cars I've had. My long block is all OEM, and I have 81k on the odometer. I don't need a fire breather, but I'm also not daily driving it. I guess I need a cam kit that will still allow me to run 92 fuel, and not pressure the engine too much, but still have great power. My goal is 11 second 1320's. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, BHB |

There's a lot of options and most will do you just fine. You can find my posts of my idle. I am running JREs rough idle blower cam. Good street manners and she's a monster.

BTR has a PDS specific line of cams. I ordered a stage 3 for my daily driver. If I ever get it put back together, I'll post videos and impressions.

It’s all about perspective, as they say. Me reading your post about a cam AND a Whipple, sure says, “fire breather” to me! Good luck with the build.

I will say if you want less maintenence. Meaning you don't want to change your springs every 25k miles. Stay under .600 lift.

I’ve got a BTR stage 2 NA cam with my Whipple. Put 685/605 to the wheels. The belt started to slip around 5800 as it’s still only a 6 rib belt. I’m more then happy with it. Hit 13 psi on the dyno. Haven’t had the room, traction or balls to see that on the street.

What rear gears are you running? Wilder cam needs to be coordinated with trans and rear gears. If you're attempting 11 sec 1/4s, 3.91s and a beefier rear set-up will make your goal more attainable.
