Door latch problems

I'm having an issue with my passenger door upon opening.

While unlocked, you pull on the door handle and the door will go out about a half inch and stay there until you rest the door handle and pull again. upon pulling the door handle the second time it opens all the way and closes fine.

I messed around with the door latch teeth/hooks (whatever they're called) and it worked fine for a day but the problem reared it ugly head again. I may not be positioning the latch hooks correctly? Please help a new member of C5!

I was checking it out again and the door lock pin stays in the lock position. I'll get the latch replaced under warranty
