well- just ordered a new convertible for my 69th birthday- After a life of driving alcohol and nitro cars on the NHRA tour I thought my need for speed was over- It might be over, but my appreciation of engineering beauty never wil end--lucky I have a loving wife-lol

Now, just wait till you start modding.

I'm keeping a running tally on my modding costs.......you don't want to know.

I think you get the point. I love this site though, it has gotten me so excited for this car and has convinced me to splurge a little bit in life. I wouldn't have it any other way

So what was the point of this thread? No idea
Funny, I started the same way as you with the same upgrade list. The only difference was that I started off first with a base car. I later added the Z51, exhaust, mag ride, 2LT.....and it's all because of forums like this.

Ordered A base coup 1LT no options.I will add aftermarket as I go.The best option that I saw was the exhaust. But for 5 HP at $1195,I said no thanks.I will go for headers maybe give me 30-40 more HP.Not that much more money.

I have waited all my 67 years for this car. At first, I was figuring what I could do without to save money. But then, given that I had to have a Vert with Z51, MSR, and NPP, everything was back on the table. I wanted a first class interior, and so I went 3LT with FAY and the suede micro fiber. My C7 MSRP was just over $79,500. Fortunately, with the price protection and discount, I paid around $75,000. Still, with about $3,500 in mods so far, I don't regret anything. I thought long and hard for $995 for a FAY dash, but now that I have it, it was worth the 8 month wait for this car.

This is my C7 and well worth every dime.

I had a target to spend no more than 65 on a new car, then said, alright maybe 68, and damn it all if I didn't end up near 71 of course (supplier price).

I tried hard not to get 3LT, I really really did.

At least I resisted the carbon fiber upgrade for 1k. And didn't pay for a more expensive paint color (oh yellow, you tempted me). Small victories! Got 3LT, Z51, magnetic ride, performance exhaust, convertible (of course!), torch red, red calipers, black rims, automatic, and had talked myself out of museum delivery but ended up getting it due to going through a dealer a long distance away.

Probably not the smartest move for a 34 year old, but what are you gonna do. As far as I know, this is the only life that i'll get so I might as well enjoy it and not have a regret later for missing an option that I really wanted.

Still might buy some nice floormats, too. Debating about the center caps.

I feel like odd man out.....

I did mine on a budget
1LT Coupe with 3 options
Crystal Red Paint / Navi / Perf Exhaust.

I was able to get supplier pricing.

Those are some good choices though to me! If I were on a budget I would have gone the same route I think, minus the Crystal Red. Maybe do the calipers instead. Performance exhaust is probably the top of the list item, and since i've never had NAV in a car before (my last one was a 2003) I think that it'll be cool to have even if I rarely use it.

There's no wrong way to spec one of these out, and it's great that people have so many choices to make them their own

I just hope I don't regret not getting the yellow! It's not even a color i'm crazy about, but looks so good on this car to me for some reason. I'll have to be happy with torch red though I suppose
