these numbers are no surprise....as I get that, and usually better in my C7.

With the base model coming in at about $60,000 MPG is probably the least interesting number Corvette buyers are concerned with. 0-60, HP, G rating, 1/4 mile is what gets their attention.

It'll do 30 MPG easy. If you drive like a grandma even more.
I think Popular Mechanics managed to hypermile a C7 to 37 MPG.

I had a '08 Z51 6M and drive from KC to Ohio several times a year. If I drove at night with minimal traffic at 77-78mph , I could get 33+mpg. Same conditions with '16 Z06 7M and I can get over 29mpg. C8 should easily get 30mpg

I always saw mpg and performance vehicle as mutually exclusive.

These big V8, high power muscle cars can be very fuel efficient (in a relative sense, it’s not a Prius) at highway speeds. There’s so much power and torque available and with 6, 8 or 10 gear transmissions, you can have an overdrive gear where the engine is turning very low RPM at highway speeds. Combine that with fuel injection and an engine management computer and you can get really good mpg numbers.
In the old days, you’d have a 3 or 4 speed transmission with a carburetor and those would burn a lot of gas no matter what. My first new car I bought was a 1987 Acura Integra. It would run around 4k RPM on the highway. It still got 30+ mpg on the highway but that’s a 1.6 liter engine that made 113hp. To have a 600+ hp Corvette almost make those kind of numbers tells you how far things have come in auto technology. |

The motor is interesting but the body looks pure mid engine euro trash. Style it ain't.
Meh. Just don't have the urge to drop coin on one. The more crap GM pumps out the more i hug my fifth gen.

The styling is pretty much entirely lifted from the C7 & grafted onto a mid-engine chassis. Not sure how that could ever possibly make it 'euro trash'.
