To stay on topic, though, I am still running the factory NPP with Kooks headers and high flow cats. A little raspy, but not badly at all, sounds amazing under WOT and part throttle, and cold starts already wake the dead, I can't imagine wanting anything louder. If I wanted to burn $2.5-3k on (through?

) a new exhaust, I'd go with Corsa.

Probably won't be able to get it in the shop for install until Friday though but I have a question for you all that have done this before.

When you eliminate the NPP actuator valves do they stay connected and tucked up out of the way or do they get disconnected and just tuck the wires up away?

I emailed the manufacturer but they are closed on the weekend. I imagine I will hear from them Monday? I looked and could not find this in their install instructions? Anyone out there with AWE WHAT DID YOU HAVE TO DO?

The actuators get zip tied up out of the way. Best to cover and tape them to keep moisture out, or somewhere online you can order plugs for them. I’m sending you a pm.

It sounds like a tin can with marbles in it when you shake it with the stock npp

Get a real muffler arpad lol.

J/K but really, the stock suitcase is so high pitched with headers.

This is the correct answer. Kooks headers, high flow cats into the stock NPP is the best combination of nice sound, quiet when cruising, and loud when you get on if. Want more sound, go Corsa cat-back. And the headers really extend the power band significantly.

I have to disagree with the above. The AWE catback with ARH headers and resonators is the best sounding exhaust I have heard on a 6th Gen ZL1. Corsa also sounds awesome. I don’t personally care for the sound of the stock suitcase, headers or not.

This was my setup before a swapped the suitcase last fall for Kooks AB, which is deeper and rumblier, but probably ~120db at WOT

All installed today and completely satisfied in fact actually surprised that it is still quiet in the car with the windows up. You can definitely hear it when you get on now! Sounds like a true muscle car now! Was going to get some sound clips but rain set in and now its about 40 degrees outside?

I was dead set on borla atak cat back for my 2022 ZL1 1LE…and then the cost went up another $500+. I think I’m going with the same as you…AWE touring cat back. I think it sounds awesome and the tips look amazing!
