Find the source of the leak while you're at it. You've lost coolant somewhere and unless you fix it, you're just wasting your money literally down the drain.

you may want to check if the thermostat is still good and is not sticking close.

To OP:

You can google/youtube the radiator, follow the hoses or lines and check all the seals, also depending on the model year check the water pump (google/youtube) to be sure there's no leak there. I had a problem of overheating on my 04 Monte Carlo and I had a leak at the water pump, the thermostat needed to be replaced, believe it was stuck closed. All told I repaired the car myself by buying a used water pump from a salvage shop for 30 bucks that was warrantied by the shop, thermostat was 7 or 8 bucks from advanced autoparts, the haynes manual showing me how to get 'er done was 15. Anything I wasn't clear on I looked up on youtube since the impala and a potiac had the same motor.

Good luck

Check to make sure there's no leaks, wiki or others.
