I don't think the engine is the weak link in Camaros, although I wouldn't buy an L99 that didn't have the AFM lifters replaced per the TSB.

What I would stay away from is:
  • Cars with non-OEM radios
  • Cars with non-OEM light fixture and/or LED bulbs
  • Cars with headers
  • Cars with mufflers removed
And of course cars with "stories" like only one key fob or a salvage title.

my 2 cents.....
done right aftermarket radio is a + (1 of the best things i did to my car)
again LED bulbs are also a +(my reverse lights/tag/DRL,FOG lights way better)
80k car shouldn't be more than $13k on the high side. i got mine with 18k miles for 19500.
use autotempest or car fax car search engine

Done right by you or competent installer...that's the key. But warning signs when buying a used car.

I just bought one with 70,000 miles on it. No issues...yet. I like working on cars so I was not afraid of some miles. As many have mentioned above the Chevy 6.2 is a great engine (I also had a ‘17 Silverado with the 6.2). Plenty of parts available, upgrades and knowledgeable people that will help. Plus plenty of YouTube videos on the gen5 covering most everything I have searched for so far.

Thanks guys!! Yea he takes really great care of this Camaro, she goes out on the weekends, when it's nice and always gets detailed after. It is an M6 car with NO performance mods done except for the CAI. It is all stock and original... Gorgeous car in person..
