ESS G4-95

Upgraded from the G3X to the G4-95 with straight cut gears. Building a 408 and 4l80 as I type. Hope to have it all in by April. I want to do some testing with the LS3 first. I plan to retune and give an honest review of G3X and G4-95 on the stockish LS3. Using the same pulley sizes 95/200. Stay tuned.

Sweet. I think the G3X is the perfect fit for a 376. The bigger motor will like the G4. Don't forget to grab the 207 lower someday. Good luck!

I miss that sound.

Did you ever test the G4-100? Was your LS3 intake a restriction? Reading back when you did an intake swap.

No, at the time, the g4-100 wasn't available in our rotational direction. I forget which way that is, but its the opposite of the vettes.

When I upgraded to the Pro-Flow XT, I also did a 103mm tb and the 207 lower. So it's hard to say where the gains came from.

First pull on that was 1080whp. +50. Then I pulled the air intake tube/fiter and it did 1140. Then picked up another 18 from the bellmouth.

At this time, I was running off of the same tune that Ted did for me using the G3X. I was just "tuning it myself". Just made a few maf adjustments and +/- a degree of timing. Everything seemed kosher.

Peak hp shift up 4-500rpm to 6500. I wouldn't worry about losing anything with that intake. Barely clears the hood (might not clear if you have the vent), and you have to cut the cowl and extend TB and MAP harness.

I plan on running the LS3 intake till I cant. pro flo is on my Summit wish list if it becomes a restriction.

If they made the ProFlo XT for LS7 heads, I'd be down to try one to keep the stock hood on the car. Seems like a pretty viable "close" option to what the Hi-Ram gives for performance, without quite as much packaging problems.

Just remember to buy the matching fuel rails. I used a set I had laying around and gave the hot engine bay an ethanol bath at 10psi. Very close call.
