Sorry you got triggered for being called out. I’ll be more sensitive to your feelings in the future.

Check out those average posts per day. Better slow down on your posting before you accidentally end up joining us in our high post counts that make us feel special. You would not want to end up embarrassing yourself by displaying your hypocrisy for all to witness.

GM dexos2™ oils are Top Tier lower SAPS¹ lubricants designed for use in high performance gasoline and light duty diesel engines where advanced aftertreatment systems such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) are used.

GM dexos2™ oils are typically high HTHS (≥ 3.5cP) SAE 5W-30 and 5W-40 based on API Group III base oils.

The main physical and chemical requirements for GM dexos2™ oils are shown below:

Requirement Method Unit Limit
HTHS viscosity CEC L-36-A-90 cP ≥ 3.5
Sulphated Ash ASTM D874 %wt ≤ 0.8
Phosphorus ASTM D4951 mg/kg 700 to 900
Sulfur ASTM D4951 mg/kg < 3500
Evaporation loss (NOACK) CEC L-40-A-93 % ≤ 13.0
Total Base Number ASTM D2896 mgKOH/g ≥ 6.0
Note 1: SAPS refers to Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus and Sulfur, the levels of which are often restricted in the latest performance specifications.

GM dexos2™ is usually coupled with a range of different combinations of other approvals depending on the viscosity grade of the lubricant, The most frequently seen approvals claimed in conjunction with GM dexos2™ being ACEA C3, BMW Longlife-04, Volkswagen 50500/50501, Porsche C30 or A40 (5W-40 only).

For more information on GM dexos2™ oils, contact your Lubrizol representative.

HTHS or high temp high shear at 3.5 its just barley enough for a stock motor imo. I will only ever put 15w50 in my modde car again 4.5 hths. my 2 cents o wait it was a crank and 2 rods

Oil threads seem to generate a lot of friction.
