Either tomorrow or Friday I am expecting a bunch of early orders to go to 3400; if yours does please post.

Of course, with a 08/19/2013 TPW we can not expect you to go to 3400 until 08/14.

Please update when an update is indicated.

Excellent thank you. Yeah you are wayyyy ahead of me. I ordered July 4th. Number 132 from Kerbeck, which is in the first 1/3 of their initial allocation. I really wish someone knew a number of orders so far. So I had an idea of where I stand. Does anyone really suspect they will start producing at max capacity right away? I have heard that is 150 a day. That seems optimistic to me, but I honestly don't know how historical launches have gone.

Did you check to see if your TPW is still showing? I received my TPW of 8/5 on 6/20, then it changed to 8/12 on 6/21. I was also at 3300. Did all paperwork. Then TPW went blank on 7/22, and event went back to 3100. Heard this was universal, and that all orders would experience a change.

Would be curious to see if you still show a TPW and your current event.

We all so wish, but I have no reason Chevy will ever tell.

And this is from someone who has made attempts to figure this out than a reasonable person would ever do.

My guess: less than three thousand actual orders, not including the PEs.

But that IS an extraordinary number of orders. May not seem so but it is.

Good summary. Not out of the ordinary, but good summary all the same.

I am this persistent: staff at a dealership that I used to order from would check my status before I had a chance to sit at my salesperson's desk and would give her an update before I could ask for one.

Used to? The dealer new car sales manager told me I had no idea of how a retail order progressed in the bull pen in front of customers and other sales people while my salespers9n was on vacation. That was two retail orders ago and would have been my fourth retail order at the dealership.

I have not entered that building since. I may have no idea how the ordering process works but I have no desire to be told so in such a public arena.

I always forgive, but I never forget.

Yeah anything at that level would blow other pre order numbers out of the water right? Or did camaro get more than that? Even if it did, its a new high for sure among more premium sports cars. So if there are 3000 maybe, and they can make 150 a day, could they really produce all the preorders in a month's worth of business days? 20 business days would equal 3000. That seems a little incredible. If that were the case, nobody would be waiting long at all.

I do not recall seeing a number for 5th Gen retail pre-orders. I did try to calculate from the spread sheet posted on Camaro5 and came up with 7000 but if anyone knows the number and can post it, it would be nice to know. The spread sheet listed the order w/ options but did not say if it was stock or retail sold; Camaro5 members could "claim" their order by entering their user name so an accurate count was not possible.

Dealer stock orders will go down the line along with retail sold orders. After the first few weeks of production, the majority of production will be dealer stock.

So they will in fact produce dealer stock before the preorders are all fulfilled? Seems odd. In your best judgment, how long do you think it will take them to produce the 3,000 or so preorders? I mean I know this is all kinds of conjecture at this point, but it's interesting conjecture lol.

The eight or so largest Corvette dealers will have about 40% of the allocations which must be used or reassigned; they got to be the biggest by taking other dealer unused allocation. These dealers will certainly have more allocation than pre-production sales, so it is a certainty dealer stock orders will be built at the same time as retail sold orders.

Assigning allocation is one of the most heavily regulated AND litigated areas in the vehicle franchise business. What may appear to be unfair is possibly the only way to assure fairness.
