"monk" - a member/brother of a religious community, typically all males. May also have vows of poverty and/or obedience.

Fun fact: it was actually monks whom invented champagne, they were trying to make white wine but air got into the bottle and then voila: bubbly.

*medical term, sorry*

Hey Doc', your mining the medical terminology puts the rest of us at a decided disadvantage. I'm willing to give it a go, but I ain't sure the rest of the gamesters feel likewise. We could poll them.

What would be helpful to know is whether my choices have been too easy. I assuredly have plenty of terms to rack even the most serious wordsmiths, yet those I have scorned for words that won't overly frustrate the players. Perhaps, I have been looking at this thing all wrong.

Okay, your word, hmm. "an" is a negative particle; "sarco" is flesh in Greek, hence sarcophagus "flesh eating".

Could your word mean fleshless?

The greek meaning of the word does come out to be fleshless, so you did get the original definition of the word. Though over time it has changed, much like how the term "capsule" is used today as compared to 1700s. Either or, your word Ivas

Thank you, very gracious of you, I'm sure.

New word: "Portcullis"

I was reminded by the location of yesterday's British parliamentary enquiry into the machinations of Rupert Murdoch.

Okay, time's up. Portcullis is that set of iron bars with pointy ends that forms an inner door to a castle.

New word: "Mallet"

The medieval sport in which two knights with lances, while on horse back would charge at each other. The objective being to hit your opponent and to break your lance on him.

*this stands for something. While it is technically not a word, the rules do say that "slang" is allowed*

Ooh, this one's gonna' be super difficult for me. Though I hear slang everyday at work teaching high school, most of it is in Spanish. My own use of English slang is somewhat dated; remember I'm 56 years old. I do not "text" because I do not own a mobile phone. I ain't anti-technology; it's just I've no need for one.

I'll have to guess. Gran Turismo Lamborghini ? or God That's Laughable ?
