Identify mag ride

How can I identify if a 16/17 2ss has magnetic ride shocks? Also did the 2016 have apple CarPlay Standard

One more. If it has 4 exhaust tips then it’s the dual mode performance exhaust right?

If you can see the RPO codes (under the carpet in the trunk), F55 is the magnetic ride code. Below is a pic of mine.

CarPlay is standard in 2016 2SS.

Yes... If you look at the outer tips, you will see the valves too... Don't judge me on my exhaust down there. I am lazy, heavy right footed, and it's cold out so I am not inclined at this time to wipe them down!

also, on your infotainment system, you won't have the suspension options if you don't have it .

You mean the Suspension change option from tour, sport and Track?

Good info. I would only add/clarify that CarPlay is standard on the 1SS as well. I'm assuming it's standard on the LT as well, but not certain.

Carplay in 2016 was a late arrival. So, depending on when the car was built, it may or may not have it. It is available as an add on through a GM dealer though. They just have to program the mylink.

You can also go to monroneylabels.com and get the original window sticker for any car with just the VIN. $7.99 but worth it to see the original equipment and original MSRP.

Go look at my post and you can get your RPO codes, for free...if cannot find the info in/on your car.

I though you could get the tour, sport track mode option without getting Magnaride.

You can but if you don't have magride, it doesn't change anything with the suspension.

More specifically WRT the reply saying you can’t select suspension modes w/o MRC, I think he meant you can’t select those modes within MyLink settings without MRC. With MRC and DME, there are selections in the touchscreen that allow you to change those things independently of the rocker switch on the console. With MRC, you’ll see “suspension” on the screen menu; with DME you’ll see “exhaust” available on the menu. They’re not there if you don’t have those options.

Without MRC, the rocker switch in the console only changes shift characteristics in the A8/A10. And exhaust mode, IF you have DME and the settings for it in MyLink are set to “Automatic” (meaning the exhaust mode is automatically selected based on drive mode selected with the rocker switch).

Within MyLink screen, you can have any combo of MRC characteristics and exhaust sound independently of one another.

Mine's a 2SS late 2015 build date and it has CarPlay, just for reference.

Yes, but it will only change Steering weight, Exhaust volume (if NPP equipped), automatic transmission shift behavior, and throttle response.
