Depends on the width and height of the new wheel.

In laymans terms the offset is the distance from the center of the wheel of the face that mounts to the wheel. The more positive offset, the more the wheel will be inwards in the fender well. How much the wheel sticks in or out from the fender depends on the wheel width and the offset. Wheels are available in so many widths and offsets it can be confusing. I have bought aftermarket wheels in the past that stick out or in too much.

I wanted a perfectly flush look with a square set up on my Camaro. I wanted wider than the stock 8.5" wheels. I ended up going with 10" wide wheels. It took me the longest time of research, looking at available wheels and the different offsets, adding and subtracting, comparing to my stock wheels to try to determine how much more they would stick out. So I went with a shop that buys blank wheels- no bolt pattern and extra material left on the hub for machining the precise offset desired. I got the exact look I wanted with a 10" wide wheel and square set up, not staggered. I am so please with how it came out. End result was 10" wide wheel machined to a 28 MM offset. See my post on Stance FS-08.
