Mixed Emotions

So it is with mixed emotions that I said goodby to the ZL1 on Saturday. I will spare you the details but lets just say that I have been married for 26 years to a wonderful woman and she hated the Camaro since the day I bought it.

I grew up around Corvettes, my father bought his first one when he was 18 in 1966 and my brother still has it today. So I found a 2019 Grand Sport not to far from me and frankly they made a deal that I could not refuse, besides the fact that my wife really likes the car and wanted me to do it.

So I made the trip to Knoxville through a snowstorm (never had it in the rain let alone in the snow). I picked up the vette and drive south through Atlanta to avoid the snow and brought it home.

Differences, the Camaro feels more powerful, more like a brute. The vette, on the other hand, feels a little more refined, expensive if you will. I am a big guy by most measures (6-4 245) and I actually have more headroom in the vette than I did in the Camaro. The vette has way less overall space which is to be expected.

I checked the dealer web site and they have it listed for sale already, no pictures as I am sure it needs a detail after the shitty weather I went through. So if someone is interested in 2013, white with the option aluminum wheels, just over 16k miles, hit me with a PM and I can tell you what the gave me for trade-in so you have a baseline to work down to.

There’s no way she’d get rid of the Camaro, but I wish my wife hated the Honda Civic enough for me to get a Vette. Enjoy your new car! Congrats

I once had a girlfriend that hated my 1978 GMC Jimmy. Just this past January we celebrated our 24th anniversary together. Not sure what the old girlfriend is doing.
