ZL1 Front Bumper Conversion Question - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have a Victory Red 2012 Camaro LT/RS that I want to convert to a ZL1 Front Bumper and Ground Effects Package/Body Kit EXCEPT I want to keep my current grill and have the Ground Effects Package/Body Kit be painted a matching Victory Red color. I'm not sure how exactly to go about this so I am asking for your help!

Does the ground effects packge automatically come with the purchase of a ZL1 front bumper? Should I order the ZL1 front bumper, DRL fog lights and VR ground effects packge? Should I order the ZL1 front bumper and DRL fog lights and have the ground effects painted VR?

And where should I order?

I got the ZL1 front conversion kit from gen5diy.com. It is a complete kit with harness. I am not sure what you are asking about the ground effects though. I had factory GFX before I added the zl1 front.

I currently do not have the ground effects installed on my car but want to. So if ordered a complete ZL1 front bumper conversion kit, would it include the ground effects like all ZL1's have?

no it only comes with everything needed to swap complete bumper. rockers are not included.

There may be places that offer all of it at once. Most places I have seen usually just sell the front. You could always get the front conversion kit and buy the rockers and diffuser separately.

In other words, I do not want that attachment at the very bottom that is sticking out. I want to order it so that it comes Victory Red, and with the side ground effects as well.

Oh ok this is making a lot more sense now. I'll just buy the rockers separately then. But what do I do about the front if I want that painted Victory Red?

You will need to have the front bumper painted anyhow. Just get the lip painted then. You want the rockers and diffuser painted as well right?

a while back i saw one of the conversions had fitment issues. is there a difference between any of the vendors (gen5diy.com gary's customs or GM parts house)
best prices ? i live a few hours away from gary, so that might be an options. any tips would be appreciated.

I believe all of those places sell the gm parts. A lot of the fitment issues is going to rely on the installer. Also, the cowl on the ss bumper will not math the zl1 bumper so your body shop guy will need to correct that as well.

Im not sure who the cheapest is but you will most likely have to go to gen5diy to get the harness that allows you to use the fog lights. I went ahead and got everything from there just to get it all at once.

Ok I'll try to order the front bumper and lip painted and if nobody can sell it to me all painted then I'll have it done by my local shop. Then I'll order the rockers (and diffuser if I chose that as well) already painted. Now to find out the best prices/painting options out of the 3 companies. Thanks for the help!

You can order it from gary's customs. I am pretty sure gary's customs will paint the whole zl1 front and lip for you. He will also do the cowl mod for you. I am not sure what else you will need to install it though.

He may sell the harness now too.
